Basic Child Funeral Training

A child’s funeral. How do you shape it – and what are the extras to consider?

“I thought I already knew something about it, now I know what I was really looking for.”

The death of a child is unimaginably profound. And yet, often under immense pressure and grief, parents must make decisions about the funeral. Especially in those vulnerable days, the right guidance can make all the difference – between a ceremony that feels empty, and a farewell that carries, honors and heals.

What to expect.

An empathetic, practical and inspiring lecture on shaping a meaningful children’s funeral.

We reflect on:

  • What parents, siblings really need

  • Rituals that help (and why)

  • The difference between comforting and wanting to resolve grief

  • How to guide with gentleness and clarity as a professional

  • What to say and what not to say

  • Choices around the place, the casket, music, symbolism – and how to hold space for what is appropriate for this one child

The lecture is infused with true stories, relatable and touching. No dry theory, but real-life experiences, examples that stick with you, and words that open up where things got stuck for a moment.
