Basic Kinderrouw training
Getting a better grip on grief in children in one day
Why this training?
More and more professionals are encountering families in which a parent is seriously ill or dying. What do you say? What do you not say? How do you support a child in these situations?
This one-day basic training provides practical tools, insights and frameworks for those working with children in grief.
What will you learn?
- Loss triangle: impact, coping, support
- Different models on grief and loss
- Basic attitude: presence, togetherness, ownership
- Acting pedagogically sensitive
- How to communicate honestly, simply and with boundaries
- Practical language and dosage of information
- Dealing with questions such as, “Is Dad going to die?”, “Is a cremation with fire?”

For anyone who works with children or families in which illness or loss is an issue. Consider:
- Youth professionals and CJG staff
- Teachers, IBs and school teams.
- Nurses, maternity and educational workers

- Spiritual caregivers
